Struck in 1oz of 999/1000 Fine Silver to a pristine Proof Finish, following its approval at Buckingham Palace, the new Una & the Lion 1oz Fine Silver Proof Ultra High Relief Coin features a flawless PF70 finish, as officially graded and independently verified by NGC, the world’s largest coin grading provider since 1987. Just like Wyon’s original, the design depicts the monarch holding the ceremonial Sceptre to guide the lion at her side which, on this 2025-dated issue, has been skilfully modelled, to enhance its finer details, in beautiful ‘Ultra High Relief’ (up to 6 or 7 times the usual relief height) by Jody Clark, best-known for the UK’s final official QEII definitive coin effigy.

The reverse, which Wyon based on the epic ‘Fairie Queene’ also includes, like the original, the Latin for ‘May God Direct My Steps’ and ‘1839’ in Roman numerals. On the obverse is an offcial portrait of Charles III, also by Clark. To protect its blemish-free finish, this new ‘First Day of Issue’ coin, one of only a limited number purchased on its first day of release and which arrived at the NGC for official verification within a week of launch, is preserved in a hermetically sealed transparent case, with NGC grading certification, personally signed by Jody Clark! This is then further protected in a luxury Presentation Box.
