Enhancing the design further is the sought-after addition of red and white colour on the shield, representing the colours of the St George flag and the kit worn by the team during their epic victory. Also included on the reverse is the Latin inscription ‘ANGLIA VICTORES’ which translates to ‘ENGLAND VICTORIOUS’ and the milestone year, ‘1966’.

An estimated 400 million people from around the world watched England’s triumph against West Germany in 1966, lifting the Jules Rimet for the first and only time.
