Officially approved by Buckingham Palace, this limited-edition release has been expertly struck in five full ounces of 999/1000 Fine Silver to the finest Proof finish with a design inspired by the original Laurel from the reign of James I, who was on the throne of England from 1603 until 1625.

An Historic Effigy

Depicted is His Majesty, for one of the first times ever, in an official right-facing portrait, opposite to the direction he has faced on Britain’s coinage since inheriting the throne from Queen Elizabeth II in 2022. Charles III is portrayed in a laurel wreath headdress, just as his Stuart ancestor was more than 400 years ago. This unique effigy is the work of leading engraver Jody Clark. On the reverse meanwhile, is a design also based on the 17th century original, which features a Royal Crown above a Quartered Shield on an impressive 65.00mm diameter.
