Dating back nearly 1,900 years old – Own a Genuine Roman Silver Coin

For the first time Harrington & Byrne is in a position to offer the opportunity to our priority collectors to own a remarkable silver coin dating back to Roman times – and to perhaps one of the Empire’s most famous rulers, Emperor Hadrian.

Emperor Hadrian – one of the most iconic Roman Emperors

Hadrian became Emperor of the Roman Empire in 117 A.D. and would reign for 21 years until his death in 138. The significance of his reign is perhaps now best remembered in this country due to his construction of the wall that bears his name – at the northern perimeter of the Roman Empire during the 2nd Century and which was built "to separate Romans from barbarians".

It was not just Britannia that Hadrian visited during his reign – he would spend much of the early reign travelling throughout the Empire, unlike many of his predecessors who spent their time in Rome.

During Hadrian’s reign of the Roman Empire the most common coin was the Denarius. First minted in around 211 BC, it was a small silver coin and would remain the prominent coin of Rome until the 4th Century.  Indeed, the coin denomination was even referenced within the New Testament of the Bible.

It is this significant history that makes the coinage of Emperor Hadrian so significant and means that your opportunity today to own a genuine Silver Denarius from his reign so special. This is especially the case when you consider the life of these particular coins - where have they been over the last 1,900 years and who has held or owned them over the years?

Only 30 pieces available to own

Consider too the rarity of these pieces. Usually when recommending an issue, it tends to be an example of the very best modern releases, which is limited due to their finish and presentation. In regards to the Emperor Hadrian Silver Denarius however the restricted nature of the coin is due purely to the fact that the coins are almost 1,900 years old with Emperor Hadrian reigning from 117 to 138 A.D. – and because of this, they are understandably extremely difficult to obtain.

It is with that firmly in mind that it has taken nearly 12 months to be able to build up a stock large enough to be able to offer today.  We have just 30 of these coins to offer.  Therefore to secure your Emperor Hadrian Silver Coin today, please click below - stock will be gone soon.
