The final Queen’s Beasts release from the Royal Mint – SOLD OUT in 24 Hours
In 2016 the Royal Mint would launch arguably the most successful coin series in a generation. The Queen’s Beasts programme has gone on to sell tens of thousands of coins across a range of releases – both in silver and gold.
Now, five years later this magnificent collection has come to an end – with the release of the final design of ten issues released earlier in 2021.
To mark the conclusion of this unprecedented series from the Royal Mint an unexpected additional piece has been released to celebrate all ten of the Queen’s Beasts – incorporating the designs from the individual coins onto one ‘completer’ release.
The Queen’s Beasts
If you are new to the key series from the Royal Mint then let me give you a little background. The Queen’s Beasts featured prominently at the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953, a striking line-up of then statues that acted as a reminder of the centuries of tradition that went before her and featuring hugely important heraldic characters such as the Lion of England; the Unicorn of Scotland and the Welsh Dragon.
The statues were placed on display outside the western annexe of Westminster Abbey, a glassfronted structure in which to marshal the long processions before the service. After the Coronation, the statues were moved to Hampton Court – but by the late 1950s had found a new home, where they remain today, at the Canadian Museum of History in Quebec.
Another Beasts sell-out
Over the last 5 years the interest from collectors in the Queen’s Beasts coin series from the Royal Mint has been unparalleled. This interest has led to numerous sell outs across each of the ten releases and has come as little surprise when you consider the small mintages and more importantly perhaps, the magnificent designs of Jody Clark.
These ten individual designs have been brought together on one final imperious release – with each limited-edition coin within the range of ‘completer coins’ selling out within just 24 hours!
Fine Silver release
Today, you have the opportunity to secure the sold out one ounce silver coin. Struck in 999/1000 fine silver, the coin has struck to a proof finish and comes housed in official Royal Mint Presentation Case with Certificate of Authenticity. Crucially, it features the magnificent Jody Clark design with the ten beasts all incorporated.
Limited to just 7,100 silver coins, this release sold out on the first day of release – therefore leaving many collectors disappointed on missing out on this key coin.
Strictly limited availability
This scarcity only underlines the achievement of Harrington & Byrne to secure 100 of these coins before they sell out – despite attempting to get hold of far more of these to satisfy the demand expected from the large numbers of Queen’s Beasts customers we have, as well as the thousands of collectors that were never able to secure any of the previous beast releases.
Therefore these coins will not last long. As a genuine Royal Mint must-have piece of much significance, and that is an essential addition to many ongoing collections, demand is sure to be as high as it has been for any offer that Harrington & Byrne has presented.
Whether you have already been lucky enough to secure all (or even some) of the individual Queen’s Beasts releases or you originally missed out, this is an unmissable opportunity to own these magnificent designs on one highly desirable (and sold out) release. Reply now to avoid missing out.
